Coaches Named for 2022 BioSteel All-American Game

Event set for Jan. 17 at USA hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced the coaching staffs for Team Blue and Team White for the 2022 BioSteel All-American Game, set for Jan. 17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. Anthony Noreen (Tri-City Storm/Chicago, Ill.) and Ryan Petersen (Green Bay Gamblers/St. Paul, Minn.) will coach Team Blue, while Brock Sheahan (Chicago Steel/ Lethbridge, Alberta) and Cody Chupp (Muskegon Lumberjacks/Big Rapids, Mich.) will coach Team White. 

Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and the game can be seen live on NHL Network. Tickets are still available at the USA Hockey Arena box office or can be purchased here

ABOUT TEAM BLUE STAFF

Noreen currently serves as president of hockey operations and head coach for Tri-City, his fifth year as bench boss for the Storm. The two-time USHL Coach of the Year has guided Tri-City to the Anderson Cup as the USHL’s regular-season champion twice, most recently in 2019. Noreen has served as a coach for the U.S. Junior Select Team at the World Junior A Challenge three times, including for the (year) squad that captured the tournament championship. The former University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point defenseman began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, prior to joining the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms. 

Petersen is currently in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Green Bay Gamblers. Prior to Green Bay, Petersen served as an assistant coach with the USHL’s Madison Capitols. He played two seasons in the USHL, including serving as team captain for the Gamblers during the 2004-05 season and went on to play at St. Norbert College, including serving as team captain for two seasons. 

Jim Schoreder (Chicago Steel/Wood Dale, Ill.) will serve as athletic trainer for Team Blue, while Parker Hoffman (Chicago Steel/Naperville, Ill.) will serve as equipment manager. 

ABOUT TEAM WHITE STAFF

Sheahan is currently in his third season as head coach of the Chicago Steel, after winning back-to-back Anderson Cup championships as regular-season champions of the USHL, as well as last season’s Clark Cup championship as league playoff champions. The former University of Notre Dame defenseman began his coaching career at his alma mater, prior to joining the staff at the College of Holy Cross. Sheahan first joined the Chicago Steel as an associate head coach, and was named head coach mid-season following Greg Moore being promoted to head coach of the Toronto Marlies. 

Chupp is currently in his second season as associate head coach of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, following a four-year stint with the USHL’s Lincoln Stars as head coach where his teams qualified for the Clark Cup Playoffs twice. Chupp played junior hockey in the NAHL and USHL, prior to playing four years with Ferris State University, including two years as team captain. Chupp began his coaching career with Utica College prior to joining the Green Bay Gamblers coaching staff. He has previously coached at two USA Hockey player development camps. 

Brian Stoya (Muskegon Lumberjacks/Lake George, N.Y.) will serve as athletic trainer for Team White, while Ian Wood (Muskegon Lumberjacks/Bay City, Mich.) will serve as equipment manager.
