With five minutes remaining in the second period, Switzerland's goaltender Christian Kirsch made a big save on Adam Kral’s wrister to protect the Swiss’ one-goal lead. 

Czechia found its way on the scoreboard just less than two minutes later. An initial shot on net led to a scramble for the puck in the crease, before Adam Novotny was able to jam the puck past Kirsch. Novotny's goal tied the game up at one apiece, at 16:48 of the second. 

Just over halfway into the final period, the Swiss regained their lead. From behind the net, Loris Wey sent a pass to the oncoming Paul Mottard, who buried his one-timer point blank in front of the Czech net. 

Novotny evened the game up once again for his team, at 13:55 on the power play. Kral connected with Radim Mrtka in the right faceoff circle, before Mrtka sent a pass over to Novotny in the opposite circle. Novotny's one timer beat Kirsch near side, earning him his second goal of the game.

With the game being deadlocked at 2-2, the game went to an overtime period.

Just over a minute into extra session, Basile Sansonnens passed the puck off to Nolan Cattin who handed the puck off to Reber. The Swiss forward skated with the puck from his blue line all the way into the offensive zone before backhanding the puck past Czechs goaltender to secure the Swiss’ overtime win. 

Despite being outshot 33-22, Team Switzerland earned the win over Team Czechia, 3-2.

Sweden stormed back with two quick goals to pull in front and take a lead after 20 minutes of action. Alexander Zetterberg tied the game with a slap shot off a great feed from Melvin Fernstrom and Jakob Ihs-Wozniak claimed the lead for the Swedes a little over two minutes later with a quick far-side wrister after driving the left wing.

The U18s converted a scoring chance to tie the game at 5:31 in the second. Cole Eiserman's aggressive forecheck forced a turnover in the corner and he backhanded a pass out to Max Plante. He collected and sniped one far-side, top-corner past the Swedish keeper to even the tallies at twos. 

Team USA took their first lead at 13:53 during a 5-on-3 power play. Cole Hutson, Plante and Ziemer went tic-tac-toe, with Ziemer burying one from the hashes and lighting the lamp for his second tally of the tournament finale.

The Swedes answered back, tying the game with a power-play score just shy of the midway mark of the final frame. Anton Frondell roofed one with a one-timer from the right circle.

A Team USA penalty near the end of regulation gave Sweden another man advantage, and Frondell won the trophy with another top shelf roofer as two seconds remained on the clock. 

Love Harenstam finished with 42 saves to pick up the win for Team Sweden, while Nick Kempf stopped 15 in net for Team USA.

Harenstam was named the Player of the Game for Team Sweden, while Brodie Ziemer earned the honors for Team USA.
