USA Hockey Arena to Host 2024 Chipotle-USA Hockey Youth Tier I 13O and 14U Championships

Both tournaments will take place April 2-7; Novi Ice Arena to serve as secondary host site

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - USA Hockey Arena will serve as the host venue for the 2024 Chipotle-USA Hockey Youth Tier I 14U and 13O National Championships from April 2-7, 2024. The tournament will bring in the top youth teams from around the nation to play at the home of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program.

The 14U tournament will have 16 teams, representing each USA Hockey district, and will compete in the six-day tournament, alternating between USA Hockey Arena and Novi Ice Arena. The first three days will include 24 round-robin contests and the top two teams from each division will advance to the quarterfinals. Semifinal games will follow on Saturday, April 6 and the finals will be played on Sunday, April 7. 

The qualifying teams in seed order are (1) Rhode Island Saints, (2) Shattuck-St. Mary's, (3) Boston Jr. Eagles, (4) Pittsburgh Pens Elite, (5) Florida Alliance, (6) Mid Fairfield Rangers, (7) Chicago Reapers, (8) Windy City Storm, (9) Dallas Stars Elite, (10) Detroit Little Caesars, (11) Rochester Saints, (12) St. Louis Jr. Blues, (13) Detroit Honeybaked, (14) Anaheim Jr. Ducks, (15) New Jersey Rockets and (16) Sioux Falls Power.

2023 Youth Tier I 14U Champions, Buffalo Saints

The 13O tournament will be played with 12 qualifying teams. They will have five round-robin games and then a third-place and championship game on Sunday, April 7 at USA Hockey Arena. For the complete schedule, click here.

The qualifying teams are Team North Dakota, Detroit Little Caesars, Minnesota Loons, Buffalo Jr. Sabres, Mid Fairfield Rangers, Pittsburgh Pens Elite, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, Los Angeles Jr. Kings, Minuteman Flames, Dallas Stars Elite and Chicago Reapers.

Five associations (Detroit Little Caesars, Dallas Stars Elite, Chicago Reapers, Mid Fairfield Rangers and Pittsburgh Pens Elite) will be represented in both divisions. 

Detroit will be represented by Little Caesars in both divisions and Honeybaked in the 14U division. 

Every game of both the 14U and 13O tournaments will be streamed online exclusively at USAHockeyTV.com. Games will be available live and on-demand after the completion of each contest. All qualifying teams and the complete tournament schedules will be posted when available. 

USA Hockey has conducted the country’s ice hockey National Championship tournaments since 1938, with teams from all across the United States crowned champions across various classifications. Michigan leads all U.S. states, serving as a Nationals host site 111 times since the inception. As part of USA Hockey Nationals, more than 7,500 players compete for American hockey top honors at youth, girl’s, women’s, sled, high school and adult levels.

ABOUT USA HOCKEY ARENA
Opened in 1996, USA Hockey Arena is a multi-purpose, two-rink facility in Plymouth, Michigan. Originally known as Compuware Sports Arena, it was renamed USA Hockey Arena in 2015 when the USA Hockey Foundation purchased the building to be the new home for their National Team Development Program. The arena encompasses 190,000 square feet with main level seating, private suites and press boxes. The design of the arena provides 3,504 seats for hockey games and 4,500 seats concerts and other events.
