Each year dozens of exceptional families open their homes to the finest American amateur hockey players in the nation. These selfless families provide a vital service to the success of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. USA Hockey is always looking for families to take in players and provide homes and a family environment for the student-athletes who attend an accredited online program. 

Since 1999, when the NTDP had its first eligible draft class, the program has seen 408 NHL draft picks through the 2024 draf, including five number-one overall selections — Rick DiPietro, Erik Johnson, Patrick Kane, Auston Matthews and Jack Hughes. To begin the 2024-25 season, 88 NTDP alums were suited up on NHL opening rosters while more than 550 players have gone on to skate at the NCAA level.
