In preparation for the 2018 World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, Team USA met at USA Hockey Arena to hold their camp to train for the competition.

The camp featured Team USA’s World Junior singles team and the alternates. The goal was to allow the athletes to perform in a competition-like environment and receive feedback from officials so they can improve their skills before the championships. The camp gives the singles athletes, who normally train in different parts of the country, the experience of training together.

As part of the camp, the athletes bonded over team dinners. Justin Dillon, the Director of High Performance Development, spoke about the experience and said, “To have the camp in this beautiful facility, gave the athletes a true competitive simulation experience. The arena is awesome and those who attended had a wonderful time.”

Team USA has high expectations for the World Juniors on March 5-11. The camp included Alex Krasnozhon and Camden Pulkinen who were the gold and silver medalists at the 2017 Junior Grand Prix Final.

USA Hockey Arena was proud to welcome Team USA and wishes them luck in their upcoming competition.
